I have found that while most believers truly believe that they should bear fruit in their spiritual life and even in their earthly relationships, they struggle with the idea that the their Heavenly Father is pleased when they experience increase in their business.

And that puzzles me, because the Bible has so much to say about this topic.

Prosperity is spiritual, material, and physical

1 Corinthians 16:2 | Upon the first day of the week let every one of you lay by him in store, as God hath prospered him, that there be no gatherings when I come.

Zechariah 8:12 | For the seed shall be prosperous; the vine shall give her fruit, and the ground shall give her increase, and the heavens shall give their dew; and I will cause the remnant of this people to possess all these things.

It’s God’s will for you to prosper:

3 John 1:2 | Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health, even as thy soul prospereth.

Psalms 118:25 | Save now, I beseech thee, O LORD: O LORD, I beseech thee, send now prosperity.

Meditating on God’s word is important

teen reading

Psalm 1:1-3 |Blessed [is] the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful.
2 But his delight [is] in the law of the LORD; and in his law doth he meditate day and night.
3 And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper. NOTE: It doesn’t say that if you buy my internet marketing program you shall prosper. It says if you meditate in God’s word, then everything you do will succeed.

Meditation prepares us to keep God’s word

Joshua 1:8 | This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success.

Keeping God’s law is the first step to prosperity

Deuteronomy 29:9| Keep therefore the words of this covenant, and do them, that ye may prosper in all that ye do.

Joshua 1:7 |Only be thou strong and very courageous, that thou mayest observe to do according to all the law, which Moses my servant commanded thee: turn not from it to the right hand or to the left, that thou mayest prosper whithersoever thou goest.

1 Kings 2:3| And keep the charge of the LORD thy God, to walk in his ways, to keep his statutes, and his commandments, and his judgments, and his testimonies, as it is written in the law of Moses, that thou mayest prosper in all that thou doest, and whithersoever thou turnest thyself:

1 Chronicles 22:13| Then shalt thou prosper, if thou takest heed to fulfil the statutes and judgments which the LORD charged Moses with concerning Israel: be strong, and of good courage; dread not, nor be dismayed.

These people prospered because the LORD was with them

2 Kings 18:7 | And the LORD was with him; and he prospered whithersoever he went forth: and he rebelled against the king of Assyria, and served him not.

1 Chronicles 22:11 | Now, my son, the LORD be with thee; and prosper thou, and build the house of the LORD thy God, as he hath said of thee.

Solomon prospered when he was in his position of authority

1 Chronicles 29:23 | Then Solomon sat on the throne of the LORD as king instead of David his father, and prospered; and all Israel obeyed him.

We also must recognize TRUE spiritual authority (authority that God has approved of and confirmed to us as our authority…not authority that a man claims, pushes toward, or takes upon himself, but true godly authority)

2 Chronicles 20:20| And they rose early in the morning, and went forth into the wilderness of Tekoa: and as they went forth, Jehoshaphat stood and said, Hear me, O Judah, and ye inhabitants of Jerusalem; Believe in the LORD your God, so shall ye be established; believe his prophets, so shall ye prosper.

These are just some of the fundamentals of how to use spiritual principles in your finances.
