Choose the Right Product.
Maybe you love pickled herring for a snack each night. That doesn’t mean everyone else does. Choose a product that has enough potential customers for you to make a profit.
Sell to the right market.
Just because you drive a harley and like quilting doesn’t mean tha you are the typical consumer. Find out where your average prospect hangs out and meet them there.
Shakespeare was wrong. A good name is everything! Make sure that your company name is relevant, meaningful, and memorable.
Size up the competition.
If you want to sell books online, you most likely will be eaten alive by Amazon. Make sure the market is not saturated. Once you pick the right market, find out what your competitors are up to. Price your product accordingly.
Write good content.
All of the internet runs on information. Your customers go online to find information about what you are selling, not just to find out where to buy it. The more informative you can be, the better. So write some good articles and post them on your website.
Promote your content.
If you can afford it, get one of your competitors to post an article of yours on their website, with a link back to yours (I cover other promotional strategies in my internet marketing program).
