What you already have

Good Morning! I hope you are doing well, and I mean, really really well.
Would love to share with you a thought that kept coming to me this morning.
As I was awakening, I kept thinking of Eve biting the apple and I asked myself; how could Eve ever have been dissatisfied with what she had? She had everything, except that one thing.
You would think she would have looked around the garden at what she did have, instead of focusing on  what she didn’t have.
“But really” I asked myself; “haven’t I ever done that”?
As I began to look about the room in the pre-dawn light, I began to see all kinds of potential; musical instruments I have not yet taught myself to play; hobbies and activities I planned to do some day; projects I didn’t yet have time to begin.
So many people want more, more, more, but with many of us, what we have is not fully appreciated.
Today I encourage you to look around you at the stuff, the giftings and the potential that you have already.
When I was very poor, I went for a walk one day, and I asked myself, “How can I make money with nothing?” Then, I noticed some wildgrasses by the highway. I scooped them up, artfully tied them together, and made a natural wreath. Then I sold several of my wreaths from the roadside, from my car.
All it took was seeing the potential of what I already have.
Like Eve, wouldn’t it be interesting to think that we already have everything we need?  You may not think you do, but I strongly encourage you to take some inventory today of what you already have, and to ponder it’s potential.
Just something to think about.
